"It's Teaching, Jim, But Not As We Know It!"

Sab Will set up his first web site for English language teachers over ten years ago. Modern technology has come a long way since then, offering ever more mind-boggling ways for teachers to re-energise both their teaching and their own professional development. Yet it sometimes seems as though the average teacher is totally unaware of what's available or considers it somehow irrelevant to the noble art of 'teaching the verb'. In this light-hearted and informative talk, Sab looks at how on-line teaching resources have progressed over the last decade, discussing the phenomena of social networking sites, blogs and vlogs, virtual reality universes, universal encyclopedia and the 'connected everywhere' society we now live in, and consider how we can make the best use of it in our teaching and every day lives.
Sab Will is an independent teacher and language consultant, and has been teaching English in France for 15 years. He has taught 5-year-olds at the British Council, and 85-year-olds at the Mairie of the 16th district. He has worked with the British Institute, Chamber of Commerce, and companies of all types.
