Please help fund our Africa panel for the TESOL France Annual Colloquium!
We're already 20% towards our goal!

18 – 20 November at Telecom ParisTech
We need your help! We increasingly feel that TESOL France should be looking outwards, as many other teaching associations do, and that we should be looking above all to Africa. The historic links of large parts of Africa with France, the extraordinary work that is currently done by teaching associations in Africa with very little means, but with amazing good-will and energy, makes them logical partners for us at TESOL France.
We have Harry Kuchah coming as plenary speaker for the colloquium. Well, we would like to go further and, for the very first time, give a special space to African teaching associations to come and talk about their work, their lives, to tell us stories from their worlds and generally inspire us and educate us. We have identified four very special people to do this : Caetano Capitano from Angola, Rukundo Kanyankole from Rwanda, Abayneh Haile from Ethiopia and Catherine Moto Zeh from Cameroon. These individuals are all very actively involved in their national English language teaching associations and we have personally met them at this year's IATEFL conference. We'll be putting information about Caetano, Rukundo, Abayneh and Catherine on our website shortly. Our media team are beavering away at this as we speak.
They can't fund their flights as they live and work in contexts which are drastically poor. So, we've decided to create a crowd-funding initiative to raise the money to bring them to Paris for the colloquium. This initiative is for the benefit of all of us at TESOL France. We'd like to think that if every member contributes just a few euros each we will manage to reach our goal of raising €4,000 for the flights. Members in the Paris area will put them up. If you're new to crowd-funding check out the link to see how it works. We're going to cast the net wide but it will also come down to all of us at TESOL France to decide whether, in our own small way, we want this to happen. I do hope you will help. I personally think it will create a wonderful moment of international solidarity and hope for us at this year's conference and lead to endless interesting initiatives which we can all follow and take part in for years to come. What could be better!
