Using Picturebooks to develop Multi-literacies
We have the honor of having Gail Ellis with us for a workshop this December. Please be sure to tell all your colleagues of young learners. We can try to Skype you in if you are outside the Paris area.
The fusion of trade publishing and ELT pedagogy offers a high quality and motivating approach to language teaching and learning and provides a flexible educational resource. This session will show how picturebooks selected from the British Council’s Drawing Words exhibition can be used to help children of primary school age develop multiliteracies, in particular, visual and emotional literacy.

Speaker Information:
Gail Ellis, Advisor Young Learners and Quality, is based at the British Council in Paris. She has published widely in the field of young learners and is co-author of Tell it Again! and Teaching children how to learn. Her main interests include children’s literature, ELT management, and inclusive practices and she is an advocate for children’s language learning rights.
If you like, joining TESOL France, €53 (or renewing your membership) will be possible on the day.
